The bible always refer us to salt of the earth, in Matt 5: 13.
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men."
Disciples are likened unto salt, with reference to its cleansing and preserving uses..
And do you know that salt will not lose its saltiness even in 5 to 10 years' time?
Instead of the 'salt' that we can buy from the market nowadays, "salt" in the early days was just a general term. It refers to "petroleum," which loses its essence by exposure, as salt does not, and becomes asphalt, with which pavements were made. Petroleum is actually salty, and only loses it saltiness when it is used to make pavements; bcos of exposure to air, unlike our market salt.

There's actually another thing but i forgot and can't find it! hmm., well! Personal learning is great! Since it's holidays and there are so many online resources.. Do use them! Bible study is good as well! Be wise, dun listen to false teachings! =)
